I bleach my hair and then I colour it with a platinum blond colour, makes it really white with a little silver in it.
Don't know how peter does it, but bleaching the hair too many times isn't good at all.. I think its best to do it at a hair dresser, they've got the good stuff.

i thought bleaching it loads works to the advantage? cos it makes it easier to stick up if its all rough?
