I normally back comb my hair and have it really big, but whenever I do, it just stays solid.

I noticed in a few live recordings of Dave he has big hair, but it stays bouncy and doesn't go flat. How would I do this?

I guess it depends how your hair is. When you say solid, I guess thats because of all the hair spray? My hair is impossible to get to stay if I dont use lots of hair spray. Its really smooth (right word?), and heavy, so everything falls out.
But after I bleached it, it got really dry, and it works so much better to get it big now, and it needs less hair spray since its not that smooth.

So maybe dry, destroyed hair is the thing. xD

Or if you tease it, and comb it out, then t4ease it again its way easier to tease. It stays better too.

Mine are soo long and pretty much straight, so they need a long-tiring-dangerous teasing work with comb and loads of hairspray, long lasting one :')

Is it layered? That would make it easier. Mine is (kinda) long and straight, and really heavy. So I need to have it layered.

It is, but it needs pretty much work the same, and i got kinda perfectionistic mania that drives me to tease every single hair in the right direction haha:)

It is that you havent the same lenght in all the parts of your hair.. usually you got the top part shorter than the rest. Okay, im not good at all at explaining things, especially in a language it's not my native one xD

I had to learn the hard way.. Just a lot of trail and error until I finally figured out how I like to style my hair. Not to mention no one could ever cut it the way I wanted, so I resorted to doing it myself and now it looks great anytime I teaze it up. Also volumizing powder is your friend when you want to get your hair higher than the sky

the best trick i have found is to spray it on the comb then put it through your hair rather then just spray right into your hair
