OK, this is BAD, but i was too lazy to make it good :P but i think it makes more sense than the translator. I allowed myself to spoil it a little with my unqualified comments :P

The swedes CRASHDIET are back with a new singer and new label to mix up the sleaze and Glam Rock scene, after they left a lasting impression already with the debut “Rest In Sleaze” from 2005. Additional, they had to deal with changing the singer twice. The new man behind the microphone is called Simon Cruz, who has locked himself up in the studio to record the eleven songs on the latest album, together with Martin Sweet (guitars), Peter London (bass) and Eric Young (drums).
It's left to wish the band more continuity in the Line-Up from now on, so that maybe several Albums can be recorded with the same cast.
(translator's note: yep that would be nice i guess)

After the Intro(There's an intro? I loooove intros!!) CRASHDIET start out straight with the treading “Armageddon” and New-Singer Simon Cruz blends perfectly in with the sound immediately, as if he was in the Line up forever. Sometimens one has some problems to get used to a new voice in a sound one already knows. Here this problem luckily doesn't occur.

“So Alive” is pushed forward by the band's rhythm section too and gives a solid basis for the vocal and guitar tracks.
(that line is messy also in german. I also don't know if you say “rythm section” or something similar in english too, but in german it describes the more rhythm based instruments bass & drums)
But that would be worth not even half as much if the productoin wouldn't be so so wicked and well balanced. One can only congratulate to Thomas Lindell, who is responsible for the mix.

Hit-charakter has the Titeltrack “Generation Wild”, which is also the first single from the Album. With it's Motor sounds in the intro, the following”Rebel” brings the then glam scene back to life, before it slows down a bit for the first time with the midtempo song “Save Her.” The song lives, besides the melody that will stick to your ears, especially from Martin Sweet's impressive guitar work
(finally he gets some credits *is still angry 'bout the “repetetive” part in the last one*) .

Its a good thing that the boys go all out again after, because with “Down wit the Dust” comes the fastest song on the record.
“Native Nature” starts out acoustic and dreamy but develops into the hardest song on “Generation Wild”. “Chemical” is a traditional rocker like one has heard already from bands like MÖTLEY CRÜE, RATT or POISON in the past but sound-technically up to date. On “Bound to fall” you can hear the dragging, driving sounds again which make it hard to sit still.

I must dissappoint those who missed one of those old-time typical soppy ballads. Even the last song “Beutiful Pain” doesn't get corny.
(I'm soooo looking forward to hear that song *_*) ) It may pass as a “Power ballad” but has still enough vehemence to not drift into being soppy.

Conclusion:Glamrock dies hard and does not deserve to die in the shape CRASHDIET present themselves. It's a good thing that there are bands like CRASHDIET
(indeed, indeed) who continiue showing it's colors. “Genaration Wild” is not a farewell but an album on which one Glam hymn follows the other.(i don't really know if you tarnslate it that way :/) Even the second singer changing does not kick CRASHDIET out of line and i'm excited to see the live realization.(me too, who else?)

nice translation viper. you did it very well ;)

the one says martins impressive guitar work, the other says martin's boring guitar work. It shows me totally that you can't count on reviews. Its always a question of yer taste I guess.

In my opinion, solo wise ive always found Martin varies. Sometimes the solo to a song is great n im satisfied. Other times i feel the solo is too short and lacking badassness.

well its pretty easy as long I can see that somebody worked somethin' out by himself and put effort in it and not just copy somethin'.

Crashdiet Generation Wild

On the third record, by the hairspray, eyeliner and spandex lovers, they show us their 3rd singer. The quality of their songs is still very good. The opener "armageddon" is a sleaze and glam anthem somewhere between Europe and Motley. A sensationell mixture. The rest of the cd is awsome aswell and will please all the Ratt, Poison, Bang Tango, Warrant, Dangerous Toys and so on lovers. The titletrack got a nice groove, the powerballad "beautiful pain" is a song for your lighter and "rebel" is a dirty highspeed rocker. The best on "generation wild" is that the songwriting is kept very oldschool, but the production uses alll the technique of today and made the best out of it. A fuckin' party record

I totally agree with you. I hate CRASHDÏET to be compared at the silly pop-metal bands from the eighties.
